New Naira notes: Providing alternative channels for cash deposits.

In response to the Central Bank of Nigeria's (CBN) announcement to redesign and issue new naira notes from December 15, 2022, we urge you to make use of our alternative channels to deposit your existing naira notes in order to beat the rush pending the circulation of new ones on December 15, 2022.

There is no need to panic as we are closer to you than you think with over 600 branches, more than 150,000 Access Bank CLOSA agents and deposit ATMs across our branches, and over 500 BETA agents that are present in over 180 major markets in Nigeria to receive cash from customers, we are just a doorstep away. 

You can deposit your existing Naira notes using any of these channels closest to you with ease. Please click HERE to find an Access Bank CLOSA agent close to you. 

Our branches will be open for longer hours during the week for your convenience, and they will also be open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. to receive cash deposits.

During this period of receiving your existing Naira notes, all cash deposit transactions will be free. You will not be charged for cash deposits. You can also pick up your debit cards for emergency payments on POS terminals and ATM withdrawals.

You must deposit all your old Naira notes into your Access Bank account on or before January 31 st , 2023.
Do I have to wait till January 31 st , 2023 to deposit my old Naira notes in the bank?
Yes, you can still carry out your financial transactions via ATMs, Branches, CLOSA agents, BETA agents, Accessmore App and USSD.
No, there is no limit to the value of your deposits. You can deposit as much as you have.
No, you can deposit your old Naira notes in any of our branches, or via ATMs, CLOSA agents and BETA agents near you.
No, the CBN has waived deposit charges for now to encourage you deposit all your old Naira notes before the deadline.
The circulation of the new Naira notes will begin on December 15 th , 2022.
