The Access MedicAir membership plan provides its members access to advanced emergency medical treatment with assurances of optimum healthcare that delivers value for money. Some of the benefits include:

  • Evacuation, transportation, and hospital consultation in the country of the incident.
  • Evacuation by air ambulance and/or by doctor accompanied scheduled flight to the nearest country with medical expertise to deal with the medical condition including medical costs incurred during the evacuation.
  • Repatriation to the home country following medical treatment.

This refers to the Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) policy in collaboration with De Flight Medics which is a value-added service to our registered HNI/UHNI and premium cardholders. It provides emergency medical evacuation, repatriation, and consultative medical expenses for exclusive cardholders of Visa Infinite and Platinum Credit Cards in Access Bank.

De Flight Medics have all the required equipment to manage critical care patients. Their equipment’s include an oxylog ventilator, multipara meter-monitor, infusion pump, and as well as other consumables.

There is no patient that is not fit to fly. If there is a medical justification or need and a destination, De Flight Medics can successfully transfer such a patient to the nearest destination of medical excellence.

The severity of a patient medical condition determines the level and number of physicians that will be on the air ambulance flight but not less than 2.

Yes, De Flight Medics have periodical master class sessions for all their doctors as well as assessments and online learning programs on topics such as crew resource management, critical care transportation, aerospace physiology, transfer of the ventilated patient, in-flight emergencies, etc. 

They are not covered under the emergency medical evacuation cover plans. However, De Flight Medics can transfer such cases on an ad-hoc basis. 

Medevac cover is an emergency evacuation plan that covers both local and international evacuations. It covers the cost of air transfer, hospitalization as well as the cost of return to either home country or country of residence.

Only registered Access Bank Infinite and Platinum Credit Cardholders whose cards are active as at the point of registration. Also, cardholders who are above 80 years of age may be subject to an independent medical examination by De Flight Medics in Nigeria prior to acceptance.

The medical condition of the patient determines the level of physician that will be on the flight. In most cases, it is either an anesthetist, emergency doctor, paramedic, or nurse.

Yes, at least 2 persons.

It takes effect immediately payment is made for the services and the member is duly registered. However, it does not cover any medical expenses incurred before registration. 

A combined team of treating physicians, De Flight Medics medical team as well as the underwriters jointly review the case and recommend evacuation abroad based on the severity of the condition, availability of specialists, or facility to effectively manage the case in Nigeria, and other factors. 

No. But they are covered under the De Flight Medics retainership package which can obtained independently.

The MedicAir Policy will cover the following to a maximum of $150,000 per annum: 

  1. Evacuation, transportation, and hospital consultation in the country of the incident.

  2. Evacuation by air ambulance and/or by a doctor accompanied scheduled flight to the nearest country with medical expertise to deal with the medical condition including medical costs incurred during the evacuation.

  3. Repatriation to the home country following medical treatment. 

  4. Medical assistance service which includes:

  • Access to digital health with a team of qualified and competent healthcare professionals. Electronic medical records also allow for keeping and updating medical records. 

  • Emergency evacuation and repatriation to the nearest destination of medical excellence exclusive of the USA and Canada. 

  • Hospital admission and appointment with specialist doctors across De Flight Medics network of medical service providers. This also includes case monitoring, hospital expenses payment, and audit. This is, however, subject to pre-authorization and approval. 

  • Access to a 24/7 medical emergency call center with De Flight Medics team of qualified medical personnel. 

Active Access Bank Infinite and Platinum Credit Cardholders will pay the sum of $951 (Nine Hundred and Fifty-One Dollars Only) to register for this additional value-added service and shall be renewed yearly.

The cost for the medical services is borne by the De Flight Medics in line with the policy terms and conditions.

Yes, members can be evacuated to any country of choice where they have valid international passports and visas except the United States and Canada. This is as may be ratified by the De Flight Medics team.

Yes, in a case where the member has been certified fit to be evacuated via the regular passenger flights. Such members can also be accompanied by a relative upon written approval by De Flight Medics and an economy round trip flight ticket (only) will be paid for by De Flight Medics. The accommodation and other costs of the relative will be borne by the member/relative.

Air ambulances services are medical transportation services offered on medically equipped aircraft. This can either be a fixed-wing medical plane, rotary-wing helicopter, or a compartment placed on a scheduled commercial aircraft. 

Yes, cases are handled daily from across West and Central Africa.
