USSD Banking - Frequently Asked Questions

*901# is Access Bank’s USSD code that allows you to transact and enjoy banking services conveniently from your phone, without the use of airtime or data. This service is available 24 hours.
 
*901# is available to all individual account holders (sole signatory) whose phone numbers are registered with any of the mobile network operators (MTN, GLO, Airtel and 9Mobile) and correctly maintained with the Bank.
 
Joint, corporate, and multiple signatory accounts are not eligible for this service.
A service session lasts for about 2 minutes and times out after every 20 seconds if there is inactivity.  This means that every transaction initiated must be concluded within 2 minutes.
Yes, if you have an active roaming service.
To enrol on *901#, simply follow the steps below:
  • Dial *901# with your registered phone number
  • Click on ‘Transfer’
  • Enter the last 6 digits of your Debit Card number (You will be prompted to input your Date of Birth if you do not have an active debit card).
  • Enter your account number
  • Create a 4-digit PIN
Yes, you can. As long as the phone number is maintained with the Bank.

Yes. To make transfers above N20,000, a hardware token or the last six digits of your debit card is required. You can request a token from any of our branches nearest to you.

*901# service is safe, convenient, and a secure platform for transacting. You will need to input your PIN to authenticate every transaction as a personal security measure.
No, do not share your PIN, OTPs, card details or other personal banking information with third parties. Sharing your PIN, OTPs, passwords, and personal banking information gives them access to your account. Access Bank staff would never ask you for your PIN even while rendering assistance.
Always ensure you input your PIN yourself where required.
 
Dial *901*911# on another phone and follow the prompt to deactivate your USSD profile.
