Beware of Social Engineering
Social Engineering is the term used for a broad range of malicious activities accomplished through human interactions. It uses psychological manipulation to trick users into making security mistakes or giving away sensitive information.
Here are some useful tips:
Look out for little differences in domain names or email addresses e.g john.doe@accessbankplc.com vs john.doe@acessbankplc.com
Be careful when sharing personal information on social media platforms
If you have received an unexpected request, first confirm validity using a different means of communication e.g. (text message, calls)
Do not share personal information without verifying that the site is legitimate
Use strong and unique passwords. Also, change your passwords regularly
