MY TOP 5 PICKS
Best TV Shows of the 90s
Even though I'm a 90s’ chap, I've always loved things from the 90s...the music, TV shows, the music ( just had to say it again!). The 90s was the absolute greatest decade of all time.
In the 1990s, television was one of the fastest growing mediums. More TV shows were popping up than ever before, and ratings were at an all-time high. Viewers tended to be interested in laugh-out-loud moments, which is why sitcoms like Friends, Roseanne, and Seinfeld were the biggest hit TV shows of the decade.
What are your favourite programs from the 1990s? Which '90s shows do you have the fondest memories of? Here are mine.
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
An American sitcom television series that originally aired on NBC from September 10, 1990, to May 20, 1996. The series stars Will Smith as a fictionalized version of himself, a street-smart teenager from West Philadelphia who is sent to move in with his wealthy uncle and aunt in their Bel Air mansion after getting into a fight in his hometown. However, his lifestyle often clashes with the lifestyle of his upper-class relatives.
This was one of the defining TV shows of the 90s. I'm pretty sure the theme song was the first rap song I learnt verbatim. LOL.
Friends
A smart, sophisticated comedy, which aired from 1994 to 2004, lasting ten seasons. The show revolves around six friends in their 20s and 30s who live in Manhattan, New York City. It is one of television's top-ranked series and the recipient of numerous Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominations. There is a character that speaks to different types of viewers. My absolute best character still remains Phoebe Buffay. Anyone who watched the show will definitely know why.
