SOMETHING LIGHT
MY CORONA RAMBLINGS
...a brand new family
I'm one of those people who really thinks we all should come to work and go back home to our respective families and mind our business.
That's literally how I lived through uni until I got into Access Bank and met my first team, my Access family. The bond was not instant, but it was genuine.
We bonded over our quirks, over lunch in forbidden corners of the building, but mostly over bants about our “wonderful bosses”.
We bonded so well that I began to miss them on weekends and looked forward to coming to work on Mondays. It was magical. They made working great. Our theme was “work itself is hard enough; let's not by
ourselves make it harder.”
Then it all started to change. It started with a resignation; then redeployment; then another resignation and a lot more. Then, there were new family members (new ETs) and then the sad part came. It was my turn to leave. I left because in as much as I loved this family, I had to put my future and my career goals first.
Then there were more resignations, relocations to Canada, but the best part of it is that we all made it work. We all kept it touch and I know that no matter what happens to me, I have family at work that has my back and this was made possible by Access Bank.
What this experience has taught me is that change is the only constant thing
in life and that although blood makes you related, sacrifices, commitment, love, and loyalty is what makes you family. And these guys are my FAMILY. No matter where I go.
I don't say it much, but I love you all SSJJIMKSPTNIYPSNOLETCO.
This feature is dedicated to all you guys (you know yourselves) and I love you all.
