Do you have a drawer full of receipts, policies and bills waiting to be sorted and filed? Have you agonised over which documents to throw away and which to retain?
Here are some tips to help you:
Store documents in a folder or filing cabinet; avoid storing documents in boxes on the floor or other areas they can get affected by water damage or mould
Categorize your documents. You can store documents alphabetically, according to their subject matter or using a colour system, whatever keeps them organised and works for the team
Documents can be stored in the physical form or online, depending on the relevance of each. Preferably online - easiest option
Getting rid of the unwanted documents in the right manner is crucial for security and privacy reasons. Ensure you always shred any unwanted documents
Sift through the folders periodically—monthly, half-yearly or annually—and take action as and when required
Do not share documents with individuals that were not intended to view them
