Over the next several weeks we will be sharing the stories of our Personal Employee Volunteer winners and showcasing their achievements through their personal volunteering projects/initiatives that have and continues to impact lives, communities and demonstrates personal leadership.
Naomi Iquo
Naomi has contributed to the welfare of her church members by volunteering with Bishop Oyedepo's Call Center team. The team reaches out to members to inquire about their wellbeing to ensure they are doing well. She has partnered with Otwist Events Initiative to feed 250 people distributed at her state hospital health centres and motherless baby homes.
Additionally, she has been a part of an outreach program for students through the One Child, One meal, and One Sandal and Desk initiatives. She has also assisted in the task of filling potholes on her street on several occasions and distributed Christmas palliatives to the less privileged.
Chibueze Ewuzie
Chibueze contributed his time and resources as a teacher/mentor in the Retail Banking Division CSR initiative “Project L.E.A.D”. He provided enterprise, financial literacy and leadership training for
project L.E.A.D which touched the lives of over 90,000 students across Nigeria. In addition, he contributed towards the implementation of youth development outreach programs in disadvantaged communities around Lagos. He currently serves as deputy coordinator to a 1000- member youth community called Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) - Lagos chapter, where he helps ideate and implement youth development outreach programs in disadvantaged communities around Lagos. Through this platform, he has been able to contribute significantly to providing mentorship and enterprise training to over 2,500 youths
around Lagos that will boost their employability and access to jobs.
Chibueze has also organized boot camps in partnership with experienced professionals for youths in disadvantaged communities
to equip them with digital and soft skills while connecting them to practical work experience with partner organizations. Following his experience in executing laudable projects and his quest to improve his capacity to do more, he recently applied to the Mandela Washington Fellowship Leadership Institute in the USA and was selected for the 2021 cohort out of over 10,000 applicants across Africa.
