OTTO ORONDAAM, FOUNDER SLUM2SCHOOL
Entrepreneurship has many faces and many paths, and should always be centred around providing lasting and impactful solutions. Otto Orondaam, founder of Slum2School does exactly this. Accelerate spoke with the social entrepreneur on what motivates him to continue his mission and how best to encourage participation from external stakeholders.
Slum2School Africa, is a volunteer driven social development organization operating in Africa. With a vision to transform
society through empowerment of disadvantaged children in slums, helping them realize their full potential through the provision of educational scholarships, health support and other psycho-social support.
What was your “crucible moment” that led to you forming Slum2School and how has it impacted
you to continue your efforts?
Otto Orondaam: As a young African, growing up, I had always been involved in leading or being a part of high impact projects within Nigeria and other African countries. I did a lot of these in
a volunteer capacity while I was at university. I was always
thrilled at the impact a group of like-minded individuals could create when the vision was crystal clear- not the entire path,
