MY TOP 5 PICKS
Ludo
Is a strategy board game for two to four players, in which the players race their four tokens from start to finish according to the rolls of a single die. Like other cross and circle games, Ludo is derived from the Indian game Pachisi, but simpler. The game and its variations are popular in many countries and under various names.
Special areas of the Ludo board are typically coloured bright yellow, green, red, and blue. Each player is assigned a colour and has four tokens in their colour.
As easy as Ludo may seem, it requires a moderate to high level of strategy and luck (whataretheoddsorrollingtwo6s?).ThisisagameIrecentlystartedindulging in this lockdown, and I must say...I'm not disappointed.
Checkers is a classic board game, dating back to around 3000 BC. It is very simple, but a lot of fun! Checkers is known as Draughts in England and there are multiple variations of it all around the world. The game is played on an 8x8 chequered board, essentially a chess board. Each player starts with 12 pieces, placed on the dark squares of the board closest to them. The objective of the game is to capture all the opponent's pieces by jumping over them.
Pieces can only move diagonally on the dark squares; the light squares of the board are never used. A normal move is moving a piece diagonally forward one square. The initial pieces can only move forward diagonally, not backwards.
I absolutely love this game. Something about it just makes me feel old, like I should be sitting under the shade with a chewing stick in my mouth....blame old Nollywood movies. LOL.
