Dear Esteemed Customer,
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has mandated a maximum limit of N10 million (Ten Million Naira) on all cheque payment effective January 1, 2010.
From this date, cheque trasactions in excess of N10 million are now to be cleared through the CBN Inter Bank Funds Transfer System (CIBFTS) and Nigeria Interbank System Electronic Transfer (NEFT).
Be assured however, that this directive will not hinder you from conducting normal transactions of N10 million and above.
To effect such cheque transactions, please follow the steps below:
- Issue the cheque in favour of ACCESS BANK PLC.
- On the reverse side of the cheque, kindly write the Beneficiary's Name, Account Number,
Sort Code, Bank Name and Branch.
- Sign against the instruction on the reverse side of the cheque.
- For multiple beneficiaries, a signed Schedule of the Beneficiaries' Names and Account Details (as mentioned above) should accompany the cheque.
Payments can also be be made through other Access Bank Electronic Payment Platforms. These
initiatives are to ensure continuation of seamless transactions.
